After a couple days of sitting, my jeep barely wants to crank. Hardly even spins now. Volt gauge is reading low prior to trying to crank. I did a couple of voltage checks. 1st the battery. At 20V setting on my DMM, battery reads 11.62V. So after ruling out battery, I thought back 2 years to my crankshaft sensor replacement. Its all too similar. I believe a good cps is suppose to read over 10k ohms. When I tested mine earlier I got an open loop, or 0 ohms reading. Is this accurate?

"So ruling out the battery" !?!
11.6V is about one Volt below what it should be. And that's " for starters" , so to speak...

Sorry, was answering a question I thought was OP's, even though I knew it wasn't the culprit - didn't realize the thread was hijacked...

Anyway.... did you follow Radi's post?

Check at the coil main lead. Nothing?
Check for power at the coil + terminal with the key on.
No power? Check the PDC, Ignition switch and connectors.
Yes power? Check the - coil terminal for ground pulses while cranking (test light works)
No ground pulses? Check the CPS first.
I would follow this....

Well I did check for spark at the plug and was unable to see spark, of course it was a bit light outside Not sure how to test for power at coil. And I was under the impression that 11.6V is a good thing. Anyway was hoping somebody may know for sure about proper resistance reading for a good cps. When I did replace it a couple years ago, I feel like it was 10k ohm or higher..Mine currently is reading 0.0. Are these sensors so cheap they only last a couple years on avg or wht? If so, I may need to invest in a higher quality sensor.

Bob, it would be be perfectly alright if you just started a new thread. You didn't do anything wrong, I don't imagine anyone could object. Just state where you are again, and take it from there...

No spark=crank position sensor......98% of the time there is a no spark situation in a mopar product it's the cps.

Amen. The injectors will not fire ether with a bad CPS signal. (but the ASD relay needs to be happening)(mini fuse)
