We need more detail...

Will it crank at all? You used to bypass what? How?

You replaced the starter and now it won't crank at all or it just won't start?

If it doesn't crank at all have you tried starting it in neutral? Have you checked out the NSS?

Details are key.

C'mon man. MORE detail.

How did you bypass it? What did you bypass?

Have you tried starting it in neutral.

I think it bypassed the solenoid. Had a wire that I'd touch on battery in the run position. Never tried it in neutral, didn't have to before.

So, you don't know what you bypassed?

Try to start the Jeep in Neutral and see what happens.

When you turn the key to the ON position does the radio come on and all the power options work?

This could either be a bad starter, bad ignition switch or a bad NSS. Assuming this is a no crank situation based on your cryptic responses.

I'd trouble shoot the NSS and starter first.

If you can't jump the starter then I'd say your starter is bad or you have a bad connection somewhere. I jump the big positive post to the small solenoid post with a screw driver to test the starter.

If it starts that way then it's either the ignition switch or the NSS.

All options work and don't know exactly what was bypassed. Came that way from gov. Auction.

You can't bypass the starter solenoid. You can jump the starter solenoid and bypass the ignition system and NSS but not the solenoid.

If it was like that from the start I'd be willing to bet that the NSS is bad.

Thanks for the patience. Will try it out. The starter is new, figured it was solenoid. I'll double check starter and try the nss. Thanks again.

Just try to start it in neutral and wiggle the shifter around a bit while you're trying to start it.
