1994 xj with the 2.5 it all started out with it cutting out driving down the road now it's come to it stalling out after about 2 miles and not starting for about 15 mins I have tried everything changed out and have cleaned everything I can thing of plz help

 

Next time it won't start check for spark and fuel pressure. One will probably be missing.
What parts have you changed so far?

 

IAC, plugs the wires distributor cleaned out the injectors fuel filter air filter

 

checked for codes yet ?

 

Light isn't on

 

dont mean aint a code need to be checked if any thing it would eliminatee what its not....key on key off three times count flashes.

 

What I just came up with is : 1,2,1,1,5,4

 

12,11,54 ...

 

No '55' at the end?

12= battery disconnected in the last 50 key cycles
11= CPS signal failure
54= distributor sync pickup malfunction

CPS failure will cause the symptoms you are describing. There's a test procedure around here somewhere you can do with a DVM.

 

Remove battery cable for 15 minutes then hook it back up then try and start see which codes return and as stated should be a 55 at end ....

 

thers crank position sensor and cam posituon sensor ....

 

 

Won't those years still run with the cam position sensor (distributor plug) disconnected? I thought I'd seen that they would.

 

dont think so my renix will my 94 wont .....
