No, you're being argumentative for no reason and you are sidetracking this thread, also for no reason. Do you honestly believe that your little attacks on me are being helpful in any way? Having read my post, do you believe that I've given wrong or misleading information? Or are you paranoid enough to think that something I might have said was directed at you personally?

I tried 3 different sending units. Your right about the mtn due can I didn't think about that. It seams to be running much cooler now thoe. I went ahead and replaced everything because I drive 600 miles to work and figured it was easer to do it when I had a way to the parts house. I've replaced the water pump because on my wrangler it went bad but from corrosion widening the gap between the impeller and the pump housing. The thermostat because it's cheap. The radiator because I had one that was better than those ones with the plastic caps lol and the upper and lower radiator hoses because on the highway they blew up. The sending unit because it's cheap and easy. The head job thoe that wasn't really needed but I was aggravated and theses have a tendency to warp but it wasn't the case but the head was off so I had it checked for cracks and had a valve job dun and put it back on. The head and block were full of scale altho the head was boiled so it was clean. That left burping. I did it 7 different ways and it still was running at the red so I soaked the block in an gallon of CLR and a gallon of vinegar for 24 hrs. All kinds of crap came out !!! Now it's running at 185 consistently. I'm going to put another 195 thermostat in it reburp it and see what happens.

That has to be frustrating, all that work and still running hot. The forum gets confusing with different ideas coming, some answered and some not. One drum-beat looks like everybody want's to know if it really IS hot. I don't see any mention of it boiling. Mine will if something is wrong. You might be in great shape! I think a candy thermometer is under $5...maybe that would settle that, then you could deep fry some shrimp and celibate.

I think saying "Jeeps normally run hot" is wrong/misleading. The newest of the XJs are 11 years old......owner neglect has a lot to do with vehicle reliability.

It could, if u were in a situation where a strong tail wind was present. Normally, at hi-way speed, no fans should be needed and it's possible for a running efan to actually impede air flow thru the rad at hi-way speed.
