Default Wiring questions for my 1998 XJ

I’ve been trying to figure out where this wire goes to, and where it should be plugged into. Can anyone help me out please? My 1998 XJ did not come with a manual either.

Can not find what this goes to, or where it should Be plugged into?

Unknown wire

Doesn't look familiar to me, but then I don't recognise that lurid green connector either. Perhaps, in some part I've not investigated (like under/behind the dash).

However, if everything works, it's almost certainly for something your model doesn't have: XJ (& many other) harnesses are like that.

They used one wiring harness for all models of XJ's in a particular year. It is probable that it is for a option your XJ did not come with. For instance, my 96 is pretty much plain jane as far as options go. Mini console, manual windows and no rear wiper. When removing the jug for the wiper fluid there sits a different connector which I presume would be for the rear wiper/fluid that I don't have!

ahh okay, that definitely makes sense! I sure hope that’s what’s going on. I’ve been going crazy trying to find where it goes..

For future reference, you only needed to post this in the regular XJ forum which gets more traffic, as this isn't a "mod".

You're not alone, regular posts from people who believe every connector hanging from a harness must have a home. Whereas, of course, if something was disconnected, it wouldn't work (properly) or, possibly, cause other problems.
