Ok so I left my lights on like an idiot, killed the battery and needed a jump. So when i jumped my car smoke started to come out from behind my dash but it was like electrical smoke nothing was on fire. so now my running lights stay on permanently even when the light switch is off. So i tore out the dash looking for a burnt wire for the lights and checked all the fuses. Well everything looks fine, could this problem be the light switch itself? Has anyone had this problem? Is there anything I am missing?
For right now my fix is to disconnect the battery every time i get out of the car and that is getting old quick.

have you looked at your battery since the smoke? you may have fried the post connections or the battery itself or some wiring behind your dash(?)...
that's my best guess. i changed the battery in a 2000 mustang of mine once and afterward it wouldn't start turned out i fried a wire behind the dash and it cost me 400 bucks to fix, no smoke though...good luck hope it's not as costly for you!
