wiring or fuse
We have a 1999 cherokee sport when the left turn signal lever is activated the emergency flashers also work but this only happens when the left turn signal is on.
Any help would be appreciated

It sounds like you have a bad ground in your column. Course checking the easiest things first I'd replace the relays since they are cheap and then you can pretty much forget about them before I'd do anything else.
