Default Wiper/wash gremlin 89 Renix

I replaced my turn signal lever stem and repaired a leak at the bottom of my washer bottle and cleaned up all connectors to the pump motors and the fluid level sensor. Now when I turn the wipers on the washer pumps constantly. My wipers also only have one speed...very slow. Any ideas out there?

I would start here. www.cruiser54.com

I would also suspect a bad switch, or when you cleaned up your connectors, you might have knocked something loose.
- I'd suspect a bad ground some where.
- lubricating the wiper linkage wouldn't be a bad idea.

Are all the contact points in the new switch, the same as the old switch?

I believe the stem contact points are exactly like the old one, but I will double check. When you say contact points you do mean the stem of the lever correct?? I will run through the grounds again. The only difference in the wiper/turn signal stem is my new one doesn’t have cruise control since I deleted the nonfunctional cruise control. Lubing up the wiper motor moving parts is a great idea, thank you👍

Default UPDATE on wiper gremlins !

FYI, my new turn signal lever/ stem that I specifically ordered for a 1989 model was just about a 16th of an inch longer than stock. Needless to say, a little dremmel work and I have wipers without the washer bottle pumping continuously AND I have slow/fast wipers now. I sure that lubing the wiper motor moving parts helped out as well.
