Default Windsheild Wipers Question

Well i bought my jeep in the summer and haven't really had to deal with rain and now that its raining almost everyday im starting to get annoyed with the wiper malfunction. The problem is that the only setting that works is the high setting. None of the delayed settings work. Could there be a fuse out or something? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Might be the turn signal switch, or the delay module. The delay module is probably up under the dash around the steering column area--but don't quote me on that.

At least they work.

I don't see any info on your XJ, but if it is an early one there is a little black module that is velcroed to the lower dash. You will have to replace it. If it fails, full on wipers are wired straight through. It is kind of an expensive little thing from Jeep

now i dont know if this is true about the wipers but with the blower it only works on the high setting when the resistor goes out because the the blower doesnt use the resistor on high. does anyone know if this is the same with the wipers?? my 90 laredo has the same prob. i was going to just replace the switch until i noticed they are about 90 bucks and thought i should diagnose before any big purchase
