Window wipers go off when key turned
I've got a 89 jeep Cherokee, replaced the wiper switch and lever due to old owner snapping the old one off in the switch. Replacement went well, went to start the jeep afterwards and now my window wipers cycle once when the key is turned from off to start. Only once, wipers work when driving as usual, tried changing the large fuse for the wipers at the bottom of fuse box, what am I missing?

I would check the wiring at the plug for the wipers see if any wirers pulled put and maybe check the plug at the ignition switch it could have come loose .

Does yours have intermittent wipers? If so, there's a control module under the steering wheel that you can unplug and plug the wiring back together to remove it from the system. The wipers will only work for the manual swipe and in high mode, but this will allow you to test whether it is the module, or not, causing your issue...
Inside the wiper motor itself, there's a switch that's engaged part way through the range of motion, and is what actually drives the motor to completion. I'm having a hard time coming up with a situation where the wiper would move out of the "home" position enough to trigger this switch, but letting you know that it's there... The wiper needs to be moved quite a bit to trigger the switch, but who knows...
