Default window switches

Just bought a 99 xj going to pick it up this friday or saturday and the passenger window switch and the rear switches don't work. the master switch will open every window though I've pressed the child lock button and it dosent change anything. any ideas?

They will work when they want to. I have the same problem.

The child lock on your master switch is not working. You can try to remove it and take it apart and clean it with electrical cleaner, replace the master with a new one or bypass it. Search for a how-to on this site for the bypass.

This.

What is happening is that all the wires from the other windows go through the lock button. When that button goes bad, no power gets to those other switches.

That switch kills power to all window controls except those on the driver's door panel, and it's a common failure. Replace or bypass it.

Yep, absolutely. VERY common problem.
