I have a 95 Cherokee with those fancy crank windows. Well, my drivers side one was getting more difficult to roll up. Long story short, the window shattered. I can't seem to find another crank window around here...at all, and I don't feel like paying $300 to get it fixed. I was wondering if it's possible to buy a new electric window with an electric regulator, and switch it with a manual crank regulator. If so, how would I go about this?

 

Does the fact that it is a crank window even matter? I am just guessing here but I always assumed window was a window. Same holes and bolts to the same place on the regulator whether it is manual or power. My parts catalog for my '00 just lists left or right for the front windows. Nothing power or not. Thinking at least as far back as '90 up to '96 would fit. Maybe even older ones then '90.

 

I didn't think it would really matter. But someone told me that they're different. I just wanna make sure before I spend the money.

 

Did some poking around because you got me curious. Think this is the part # for the driver's side glass. 55000577 GLASS, LEFT 4 DOOR STATION WAGON, JEEP, TINTED. Looks like it fits Comanches and like as far back as '88 Wagoneers. Dosen't seem to indicate a difference for power or manual windows.
