Okay so today i mounted and wired my winch when i spooled it in and out a lil bit the engine seemed to dog down a bit, is this something i should be concerned about? Or should i just idle it up next time when im actually winching someone or myself? And if im doin this should i get a hand throttle or just stick with the pedal?

you just put a huge load on your alternator running the winch. you can grab a alternator out of a grand Cherokee ( they have higher output) from the JY, or upgrade it with a high output

. Using my 9.5 Si as an example at no load it draw 47 amps. At a 2k it's up to roughly 160 amps. At full pull, over 400.
I would check alt, battery, wiring, etc. If you are drawing enough amps on a no or lite load to affect idle, what will happen on a heavier pull

This is totally normal while at idle. My XRC8000 dogs down my idle just a bit when spooling in or out. It won't hurt anything while not under a load and I don't even know if it would with a load, really. Whether I'm pulling somebody or pulling myself, I typically get inside after getting the slack out of the line. Once I start pulling under load I just put a little foot pressure on the right pedal and it works fine. You may want to rig up a hand throttle but, my method works good for me.
