On mine, the fair lead mount is welded to the bumper. I run the cable up tight, and that will keep enough tension on the bolts to make it hard/noisy to remove. It also would apply enough force to keep thieving POSs from removing the pin on the cable at the hook. My winch will not come out of gear, and switch into neutral under a load either.

Green locktite is a ridiculous product. Its almost easier to remove a weld. Yea its permanent locktite.
