replace the cps, unplugging it and plugging it back in won't help anything, unless its a bad connection.

Default no fire

ok i had a similar situation. i replaced the cps and still no fire. follow the center dist wire back to the eletical madual. that wire will be plugged into the coil on top. remove that part. to do so disconect the battery, then the wire going to the dist. next you will see 2 connections toward the engine side on the bottom. disconect those. there are 2 bolts holding that in place remove them as well. take it to part store and they can check that part to see if it is good or bad. it is around 120 dollars for a new lifetime at autozone. the coil on top if that is needed is right at 50 dollars. if the modual is bad replace it and try with the old coil b4 replacing it as well. good luck if that tests good then find the smallest person to get the cps off of the top of the bell housing. 2 11 mm bolts. get alot of extensione and a swivle you will need them. hope this works for you......

And yes, I believe the injectors will still work when the cps goes bad, only controls spark. But Everyone else posted good options to. I mainly say just replace the cps first cause it is such a common problem on jeeps. If you search cps testing and have a ohm meter you can test it to, if it test bad then its bad, if it test good, then, well, it still might be bad lol.
