Good Evenign to all you XJ lovers....
I live in the Dominican Republic and jeep parts are expesive and hard to find.. I have a 88 XJ limited with all the miles i nthe world plus 3. I have repalce the Radiator for a 3chanel one and remove the close loop to a open loop, I have place a auxilair fan to help reduce the heat.....But as some of you knwo this will help but not for long...
So i when on and did what i was hoping to avoid ...to take the engine apart...
This mornign I started to work on it...
First thins first ..my head gasket its not blwon.. so now i got ocnfused..as to why its heating up under stress, ac, going up hills , etc...it does not doe it o nthe hw...but does get hot in city trafic with the ac...I have to do some work to the block sicne its worn out and my piston have some movement....

Now my questions is would you suggest gettign a new engine or doign al lthe work involve in repairin this 21year old Dino....
Things to ocnsider
1 time.this is my every day driver and family car
2 price and long term reliability.
3 I need my 4x4 to work.
4 would like to increase gpm
I curently run on GLP and Gas i have a automic siwtch that changes my fuel time pendig on RPM...

So far I have only found Realtive new engine here and they are 4.ol but dont knwo if they are for ma Grna cherokee or what.. its a 4.0.l will it work? and is thier a tutorial around to making the swapt.....
My best bet is a 04 in good shape form a GC I cna get for a good price with a computer, I have a good electrician that cna do the wirirng...
what you guys think?
