Many XJs with busted head gaskets? According to whom? Maybe you are thinking Hondas?

FIFY, lol

I am now facing a leaking head gasket due to PO's ignorance and negligence.

The correct 4 hole injectors for my Renix, OEM t-Stat, and everything tested and adjusted correctly. Also my "highway" is just that. Ether I bump around here hoping to see 16, or I'm on a road trip where it is pretty much all highway. Hwy 101 does have hills and curvy, slow sections, but just a couple places of stop and go. (Eureka and Willits).

I doubt the Castrol 30W is helping, except that it runs like it was young.

I seem to be getting 16-19 mpg around town, Depending on my driving of-course and 21-24 on hwy.. I have about 3K on new motor now and climbing...

When I got the heep she had 170K on the clock along with a blown head gasket, this was due to PO neglecting it.. The water pump was so bad it had no fins at all, Had no chance to stay cool...

Ant...

My 97 XJ I6 4.0 has 324,xxx miles on it and it still runs strong. 21highway and 18.5 city. I drive from 4,000 feet in elevation down to sea level and back everyday and it takes the hills like champ.
