Why..?
Why is it taking me so long to take off the metal piece under the plastic stock flares? I have to use a wrench to remove the nuts/bolts, which takes a while. Use a drill to remove them if I can't remove them by hand. I keep reading that they just break off when people are removing theirs, why are mine so much harder to remove? Taking me a few days just to take off the 1 metal piece under 1 flare...
Of course it's taking me that long because I like to procrastinate and am kinda busy. How long has it taken you guys to remove the flares/metal pieces?

I don't have a deep enough socket I guess. Either way, I have to loosen it far enough for the other socket to fit onto it, pretty lame. I'll try the tightening thing tomorrow..

Mine took 2 hrs to get mine off. Being in the midwest, taking off my flares is prematurely preventing cancer spots. Use some Pb blaster and a large ratchet to torque the 10mm. ALL of mine snapped. Plus the brackets for the flares were starting to contact the body.......a good start to cancer related rust! Good luck!
