Hey all, the P/O replaced the windshield rubber seal with what feels like a pretty thin cheap Amazon knock off and it whistles something awful at all speeds above 40. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a better seal that doesnt whistle? I checked out my buddies xj that still has an oem seal and the material is way thicker.

 

Not sure of a better brand but the windshield will need removed to replace.

 

Yeah the Amazon seals are total garbage, they're way too thin and don't sit right.
You want the Precision brand windshield gasket, it's the closest thing to OEM thickness you can get now. Runs about $80-100. Make sure you get the one with the chrome lock strip if your XJ has that, or the plain black if not.

Also double-check your install even with a good seal, if they didn't use the right glass primer or the corners aren't pushed all the way in, it'll still sing. But ditch that cheap one first, that's 100% your problem.

I would order it myself you will find a better price than they will charge you.
