Whistle from somewhere up top
Hey guys Im new here and working out a few problems on the '01 XJ I just picked up. Heres my introduction thread of a little background

This thing has a loud whistle coming from the top of the engine. I believe to be coming from somewhere around the injector rail but its hard to pinpoint.
It doesnt fluctuate much with load or RPMs. I have tried to wiggle and tap on just about everything and havent found anything. It comes and goes. If the engine is cold it wont start for about a minute or so... then after about 5-10 minutes it stops. When it stops it kind of fades out slowly. It is really bugging me.....
Any ideas on things to check. I did have a code P0455 (Emmissions EVAP leak) and P0494 (LDP) but I fixed that and it didnt effect this noise at all.

You can take a small propane torch and open up the nozzle and don't lite it, then start your jeep and take the torch and let the propane around all of the fittings on fuel rail and any vaccum lines. if theres a leak the motor will speed up when the propane hits a leak expecially around vaccum leaks. Hope this helps.
