Whirring Noise after Replacing Transmission Mount

I am trying to track down a new noise from my 95 xj (2wd) after replacing my transmission mount. I had a small amount of noise and some clunking after I let off the accelerator so I decided to replace my transmission mount (again, but the last one was 50K + miles ago). At the same time I replaced both of my motor mounts. I used a Mopar transmission mount (talk about expensive) and it seemed a bit higher/more tough than the other one I saw at the part store. I'm wondering if that difference in height has changed angles and is causing my troubles?

Now when I hit the accelerator I get a pretty high pitched whirring noise which sounds like it is coming near the transmission or perhaps the driveshaft. Its mostly around 30-50mph but also at higher sounds. It sort of fades into the background but is most prominent at the lower speeds. After I let off the gas the noise goes down quite a bit and its hard to tell if it is really still there. I am also still getting a little bit of a clunk after letting off the gas rapidly. My exhaust pipe has plenty of clearance (at least I think it does, it shouldn't move that much right?) has the crossmember. Anything else I should be checking? Is it possible I messed up during the install? (Hard to think you could put it on backwards? how important are the torque specs on that mount?).

Any leads? Thanks.

If you move the transfer case shifter back and forth slightly while still in 2HI, does the noise go away or change at all?

Its a 2wd. Any other thoughts on what might be causing it?
