whining noise when in gear

Default whining noise when in gear

so just picked up another jeep only thing that is wrong that im not sure what it is, there is a mid to high pitched whining sound when the jeeps in gear and givin it some gas, dont do it in park at all, but only does it when you give it some gas. i have no idea what it might be any ideas?

could be an belt pulley

its not a pully its not that high pitched and its a constant where pullys are mostly sporadic, it almost sounds like its comin from the tranny

my thing about the tranny is that it doesnt do it when you are goin down the road but not givin it gas, thats the only thing im wondering about that, and the higher the revs the louder the whine gets too

have you check the fluid level.

not since i drove it home last night havent had the chance to yet today been workin all day, it looked fine when i checked it when i test drove it, really hopin it aint the tranny

hve u checked ur power steering pump. mine was doing the same thing and the pump was bad.

Default Same issue

I have the same issue. I get a whining noise when the jeep is in gear (d or r). Loudest when I have the brake pressed and subsides when I let off the brake. Noisiest at stop lights. Did you ever figure it out?
