Default Where have you guys put the coolent temp sensor?

I put a 96 radiator into my 87 cherokee 4.0. The 87's sensor was in the radiator its self, the 96's radiator doesn't have a spot for that sensor.

I know this is a common swap to get rid of the closed loop system, so the answers should come flying in

Where does the 96 have temp sensors and where/what part can I put in or on my 87 to add a sensor.

Thanks, James

96 has it on the thermostat housing its self......so is the sensor a 3/8 NPT? if so just get a 96+ thermostat housing and roll.

the sensor in the radiator is for the electric fan. it is a on/off switch, not so much a sensor. your 87 should have a temp sensor in the head over the #6 exhaust port and the another in the block for the computer. the sensor in the head is only for the gauge.
