Default Intermittant Run/Start Issue.

OK well a new thread, for a seemingly new problem. I pulled all my plugs out, and they were fouled after having gotten fuel at petro canada. Were talking 2-3 month old plugs here. I cleaned up the plugs and they spark OK. The reason I did this was it would intermittantly run like garbage, and I started with the free-cheap to fix stuff. Yesterday I went into the ditch and when winching my Jeep died, then would not start. Pulled off all my plug wires, both off the cap and off the plugs, blew in them and it started. But it was still running terrible, and to respool my line I had to keep the RPMs up to about 2000, any lower it would bog and die. Half way home it just started running like a champ. I should mention every time it gets real bad, Im always dragging diffs in snow. Any suggestions? CPS and other sensors are known issue on these cherokees, so need not be mentioned, for I will be replacing them anyway. IM just looking for stage 1 and 2 tips right now.(Stage 1: Free to fix. Stage 2: Less than $100) ON the plus side, I fixed my heat, so it switches from defrost now!

For the free stuff I would take it to the parts stor and have the alternator and batterey checked, I only say this because you said you had to rev the engine to work the winch.

A multimeter from crappy tire will cost you 30 bucks. I just finished testing all my sensors they seem to be ok. I'd do that before you look at replacing everything.
If you're gunna replace your plugs anyways seafoam the thing, works wonders.
I'd check my grounds and vac lines if its a seemingly random thing, a loose sensor wire or ground, or open vac line does wonders for killing the renix...
Where abouts are you in Alberta? I'm 30min south of calgary. Got an 89 base model, no nothin special XJ heh.

I will get the alternator tested, battery brand new. Vac lines were pinched under the battery. About a foot of line was missing for my heat, so I think I have to get a vac diagram and check em all. and I also found that 5 of my 6 plug wires Were not on the plug all the way. I started it today and it ran great, but once it warmed up it ran terrible. How would I go about testing sensors? IE what would a good reading be? Barrhead Alberta, 1hr north of Edmonton

Update, with less than half a tank of fuel, problem is half as bad. Over half its terrible
