Default Where to Get Auxiliary Gage Light Power

Hi... I am adding an auxiliary gage in a pod over the dash. It is lighted. I want to make the light in this gage dimmable with the stock dash dimming lights. Where is a good place to pick up this variable voltage power for this new gage? This is in a 1990XJ.
Likewise the gage requires 12 volts for gage operation, where is a good power source to be picked up for this? This power should be fused and on with ignition only.

The gage is for transmission temperature.

At the headlight switch would probably be the most accessible. Wiring diagram says it's the orange wire with a black stripe.

The lights in the center console are the easiest to access, IMO...

I used a fuse tap to get power from the fuse panel. I prefer these over the other style that slips over the fuse, as those expand the terminals in the fuse panel

Amazon Amazon

On a side note, the brightness and high-K color of my Autometer gauge was too much for me. I added one of their adjustable dimmers to tame it down...

You'll also find the orange and black wire in the radio harness.
