Default where do people relocate pump in bumper?

hey everyone, i am making a new front bumper and was wondering what that round pump in the front bumper is and where people relocate them. Or do people just do away with them? what is the function of it?

the round ball thing in the front right of the bumper? thats urs vacuum ball for ur a/c and heater vents u can prob just screw it some were els i just stuffed it under my resivor thing next to the blower and such

that round round ball looking thing is the elusive jeep egg. take it off and put it some place warm. in two weeks you will hatch a shiny new xj. haha, move it anywhere it will fit and not be in the way.

Reroute the lines into the engine bay and fab up some new mounts for it wherever you can make it fit. That will help to protect it from trail damage also.

i did that.. kinda.. my mounts were borke when i got the xj so i rerouted the line and wedged it into the engine bay i cant rember where ill get you pics tomarrow it doesnt move atall.

What happens if you just toss it? I think that's what I did..

HA! i needed a good laugh .... way to funny...

AS to the op its the vacum researve canister... it holds vacume so your acuators for the vents work properly...

it also has something to do with your cruise control if you have it from what ive read

that to... anything that runs on vacume as you dont have much when you goose it or take off... it stores a supply of vacume to run things..

It keeps vacuum when you accelerate so your vents,cruise control.etc will still function until engine vacuum is restored. It has a check valve in it that prevents you from loosing vacuum when you accelerate. If you tossed it then your vents will shut off under havy acceleration.

lol ya i split it open and ran the vacuum through it direct. going up a steep hill or taking off fast shuts the vents lol. better than nothin
