It's bolted to the transmissions bellhousing on the drivers side at about the 3 o'clock position.

How's that work?

If you picture yourself looking forward at the rear end of the drivetrain, the CKP is at roughly 11:00 on the bellhousing - driver's side upper. It's easiest to reach with about three feet of extensions and a 7/16" flex socket from alongside the transfer case, I've found.

Why for do you need to know?

I described where it was in relation to standing in front of the truck. They didn't ask how to remove it.

True.

But, since it's always a pain in the **** to get out, I wanted to point that up and ask why for he thought it wanted pulling. Perhaps it's not the issue at hand?

Dunno. Waiting for an answer here. Still, 3:00 from the front seems a bit low - it's more like at 1:00, unless they've lowered the thing (which would be smart, except that would put it right behind the exhaust collector - making it a dumb move instead...)

I defer to your superior knowledge. You're the expert. I was simply going by the view in the manual, and have never had to replace one.

As Don Garlits used to say "I'd rather be lucky than good any day of the week!" And he was one lucky man.
