I am i the middle of replacing my evaporator and broke the electronic thermostat sensor. I cant find it anywhere and the guys at the auto parts have no clue what it could be called since their computers dont pick up "electronic thermostat"

 

grab a part number, call the dealer and get the part name, then go to the auto part store.

i can google the part# and it only shows the company that makes it, but I cant buy it from them. Tried calling the dealer he said he had no clue what I was talking about.

freegdr...that is the part but that is for RHD. I wonder what will happen if I dont put it in the new evaporator. The new one doesnt have a pin hole to put it in anyways.

I too am in need of one. Went to the dealer for new evaporator core and pretty sure they broke it. They called it the evaporator core probe. Google lead me here with that same part number 55036856 (RHD only?). This part seems to be as hard to find as responsibility in today's society....

 

The parts catalog says that the part is for 1994 RHD and LHD, 2.5 and 4.0.

Try part number 55035503.

55036856 is for RHD only (1996 XJ)

55035503 is good for 1995 LHD as well.
