Question when i went into a puddle.....

i got pulled out of a puddle that killed my voltage regulator and my alternator. then my A/C and heater only comes out from where the winshield and dash meets...... it doesnt come out from the vents on the dash by the deck and all the vents on the dash. I left my car running while in the puddle. the front of my car was submerged. so yeah! ideas?

Vacuum for the vents. Check the connection on your front axle. I believe 91 was the last year they did the vacuum actuated axle.

The vents are controlled via vacuum, so you have to have a leak somewhere. Since it was a large puddle, it's safe to assume the vacuum line connected to the front axle came off. Thus the leak. The leak may also be coming from the "jeep egg" under the bumper on the passenger side.

Regardless of where the leak is, the vents, 4wd, cruise, and numerous accessories and components are contolled via vacuum.

Search the forums for vacuum leaks.

That'd be the issue. Thats the "Jeep Egg" I mentioned earlier. It's basically a secondary canister, a storage point for vacuum.

I would check the line to the axle though too. You'll see a little vacuum nipple on the passenger side of the axle.

Yep, unless someone swapped that axle onto your year. My 93 didn't have the vacuum hookups. The 2 niples you may be looking at might be grease zerks.
