Default Wheel Hub questions

Okay so I'm completely new to Cherokees and was hoping you guys could help a newbie out. I have a 99 Cherokee SE and I need to replace the front hub assemblies. I was wondering if you guys could help me figure some stuff out. I need to know if I have Composite or Cast Iron rotors. I just bought it a few weeks ago and have no idea how to find out. Also is there any place you guys know of to get good priced hub assemblies? I'm in Mesa, AZ if there is any place local. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I use cast on my 99 sport, i bought them at autozone, after looking around online and getting prices, autozone matched the cheapest price. If you plan on doing it urself, make sure you get pb blaster or wd 40 or something to help break everything loose. also make sure u have the 12 point socket for the three bolts on the back side. i changed about 6 of them so far

AutoZone will cost, approximately, $70 each. Check Ebay and you can get a pair for a little over $100 delivered.
The PB Blaster is to help break the hub loose. The easiest way is to place a 3" extension between the front inside of the hub and wheel bearing. If you are doing the passenger side, start the Jeep, turn the steering wheel to the right and use the hydraulic power of the steering to push the wheel bearing off. This is much easier than trying to beat it off with a hammer. There is a picture on the forum as to where to place the extension. Search Remove Bearing Hub.

honestly I can probably get you cast vented rotors shipped for cheaper than $100. I think I paid a total of like $70 for pads and rotors on my XJ. I got the nicest non-ceramic pads I could get too.

When I drive and go left in a curve, not just stop and turn left but a hard left. My front left wheel bearing grinds, a hard grinding sound only when going left. What is the problem and what do I need to replace to fix it.

You need to buy a set of replacement hubs and do them both at the same time.

Yupp, its like brake pads and headlights, they both get about the same usage so if one is on its way out the other probably isn't too far behind it.

About $100 give or take. I have a buddy who had to do them on his TJ and got a really good deal somewhere online. let me check with him and find out where he got them. also, getting the hub bolts off can be a royal pain in the butt.
