Wheel Cylinders in the rear brake drums...
Are the wheel cylinders in the rear brake drums side-specific? Is there a right side wheel cylinder and a left side wheel cylinder?
I'm asking b/c I'm buying parts to do my rear drums and they have one brand that is side specific and another brand that will work with both sides.
TIA

I don't think they were when I redid the 8.25 in my 97. The fluid inlet is in the center and the hold down screws are symmetrical.

Your parts store needs to learn to read the footnotes better. 96 XJ's with 9" brakes use two indentical wheel cylinders. Only those rare XJ's with 10" rear brakes have left/right specific wheel cylinders.
