Wheel bore size
Ok so I have just bought some standard 15 inch XJ wheels for my Limited Cherokee.
I need to get some wheel center caps and have measured the bore at 71.5mm (2.81 inches) in diameter.
Firstly, I don't seem to be able to find any black center caps for this size and also on lots of the Jeep speciality places they suggest 3.30 inch center caps. Am I measuring wrong somehow?
I live in NZ so need to make sure I get it right first time as postage is HUGE!
Thanks in advance.
Matt.

When you say standard 15" wheel, you mean one of these?
You can buy black centers for the first, thats how they came. If youre after a black center for the 2nd, i think they only came in silver? But you can always paint them as they are plastic. Not hard at all. You can tell one cap from the other as the cap for the 5 spoke is thinner where the lugs are.

It sounds to me as if the OP is looking for a cap that will push through the hole in these wheels, rather than the OEM piece that mounts to the wheel from screws on the backside.

I think you are right considering the measurement he gave. The small push in center cap for alloy wheels. Of which I need either one "Jeep" or three plain for mine so they all match. lol

Hey guys,
Thanks for your responses! Yeah sorry bit vague but the guy who sold me the wheels referred to them as the 'XJ standard'.
They are the second one in fb97xj1 post. And yeah I want the push through type if possible. But again, I can't seem to find any that are 2.75in bore size... anyone have any idea? Quadratec just got back to me saying the 3.3in ones would fit but I don't see it.
Also would the black caps on the first pic in fb97xj1 post not fit on the other wheels?
Thanks, Matt.

3.3 inch are standard for Cragar-type wheels like soft 8's and d-windows. I have a set of those steelies on my XJ and there's no way 3.3" is going to fit. I looked up 2.8" push-through types, and it seems they are standard for trailer wheels, but all I see available are chrome.
Ebay US always has used plastic caps for those wheels, but they're not exactly cheap. It's best to buy them in a set, rather than singles. I just bought a "set" of 3 to replace a couple of my cracked ones and I paid about $10 apiece for them. Singles are usually double that or more. The part number is 52057618. As mentioned, it wouldn't be difficult to paint them black. I don't know if other Jeep hub cap types are compatible with those wheels or not.

Cool thanks Tbone289.
Yeah buying secondhand caps here in NZ is crazy expensive, a wrecker has quoted my about $US30 a piece.
Was hoping to get some new push through ones (I like that look better) but guess I am going to have to bite the bullet.
I just though there would be some that fit the 2.75 inch bore on those XJ wheels but no...
