Wheel bearings?

Wheel bearings?
It a 1989 XJ with the non C-clip axle. I have a grinding type noise coming from the right rear while driving. Also when I have it on jack stands and I push and pull on the tire there is some movement in and out. (maybe 1/4 inch) Does that seem like a bad bearing or something else?

Easiest way to determine is to pull it apart & look. If it is the bearing and you caught it early, you'll get by with just replacing the bearing, if not it's axle time.
