Default wheel adapters

well my step dad bought me rims and tires off a 1997 grand cherokee and i recently found out that they are a 5" lug patter and i have 4.5" lug pattern so he bought me wheel adapters so theyll fit, theyre billit aluminum and steel lug bolts, will they be strong enough for light duty offroading? and also would 255/70/16 tires fit under my 91 xj? those are the tires that are on the rims

the adapters are fine for offroading i have 2" spacers on my 90 and i beat the snot out of it everytime i offroad. as far as the tire size measure from the ground to the top of the tire a 30" tire fits with no problem so as long as it isnt much over 30 " you will be fine

trimming the fronts aren't bad at all the rears you have to be careful with there is a pinch seem in the rear that you don't want to cut off if you do the inner and outer well will separate you have to cut off the outer and fold the pinch seam up into the well

x2 on the 2" wheel spacers. I've seen them split out on the trail and make sure you use some locktight and check them often. BTW 97 grands have the same bolt pattern as your XJ, they didn't go to 5x5 till 99.
