Probably a dana 44. Jeeps dont come lifted with cut fenders either. He probably put in work. Its pretty common to to axle swaps in jeeps when you wheel them hard. Get in touch with the guy and ask some questions. If it runs well i think thats a good starting to point to negotiate a price. If you have more questions post em up.

x2 on what he said above, if mine wasnt a daily driver and i wheeled it hard enough i wouldnt keep the stock axles. But the real problem i see here is wants to trade for a subi, or honda, or acura.

Looks like he has 5-4.5" bolt pattern to me and that looks like a 30 front. If that is a 60 in back he would have had to have it cut down to stay that narrow. Sounds like this guy dose not know what he has.

You have to remember it is craigslist and a lot of people that put up the ads really don't know what they are talking about, they just need to get rid of what they have. Just the other day I read an ad for a 2001 Dodge Taurus. Now what is wrong with that as? Like Crispy said give the guy a call and ask him a lot of questions.

How can you tell the bolt pattern from those pictures?

Well its for sure not an 8 lug, and Ive never seen a 60 with a five lug, and 44s are either 5x5.5 or 6 lug which is pretty noticeable.

Dana 60s were made with a 5 bolt hole pattern but they are pretty rare. They were mostly used under Hemi Cudas and such. A dana 60 can be had in about any configuration if you have enough cash! That said, the jeep in question probably does not have a dana 60! Thx-Ace

Yes the 60 can come with 5-5.5. i have one with that bolt pattern and it was stock out of a 67 ford truck according to the build of material and Dana spicer info when i called them. Its also the same width as the xj axle so no cutting which made for an easy swap. Some of these they said where in broncos too. Some XJ came with a 44 also and it had the 5-4.5 bolt pattern. CAll or e-mail or go take a look at it. cant hurt if you dont like or it does not have what he says dont buy or talk him down.
From the pics its hard to be sure but does not look like a bigger bolt pattern. My .02 cents.
