I know he's asking too much but what's this worth?
I guessed it's worth around 3500-4000.

seem a fair bit high to me to have those little issues but i guess if you are really jonesing for a cherokee it would work great.

I'd say 3k, but you still have to crawl under it to see what he left out with whats wrong with it. Take a flashlight, note paper, camera, and a friend. Look it over then go home and discuss on what you saw. Remember your the buyer, don't rush into a purchase before you know what you have to repair and put up with.

Yea well I'd buy one for 1800 stock but for a decent bumper and winch it would be over a grand. And where I live no one has jeep parts and jeeps seem to be worth a little more.

$3k is below market on a stock '98. You could not build this one for $5k. If you want a DD, don't buy it...you won't like driving it...but if you want a good start on an offroad machine this is a very good start. It'll make a nicer poser, too.

That is a nice XJ, IMO.

I bought my 98 rig for 2300. With a lift and tires. I see 98s for 1800-2200 all the time. That gives 3000 less then him and 3k to lift stroke and bumper. And most jeeps on cl are already lifted

If the engine did'nt have a lot of miles on it I'd feel good with 4k. You gotta factor in the aftermarket goodies, Subtract the winch, bumper and the lights, thats over a grand right there. if you want that stuff and you buy a stocker, your going to have to dump that money anyway, something to think about.
