Also, if the guys actually did give you a PCV valve you could start to have real problems. Check to see if you can push air through the thing in both directions before installing it. Sounds like you might need to find another source for parts

Cleaning the valve cover is lots of fun, but the oil showing up in your air box or on the filter is cause by the rear CCV elbow or hose being clogged. Normally fumes and oil vapor are burnt up, but when this passage gets clogged the stuff makes its way out of the other hole. Just clean out the CCV elbows and hoses and you'll be fine
