Default Clicking around corners, wheel bearing?

I have been reading on the forum for some time now and think it is great! I have fixed a lot of problems so far and have never taken it to a mechanic, keep up the good work.

Have a question: I took it wheeling a few weekends ago and now every time I turn to the right around a corner it makes a clicking (metal on metal sound). My brother in law said could be wheel bearings, I lifted the front tires off and was able to shake them in and out about 2 inches, pretty loose! The rears did not move. He said he fixed his wheel bearings on his Ford and never had the same problem again.

What do you guys think? Thanks

Ball joints or axle u joints.

The clicking sounds like u joints, the play sounds like ball joints.

FrankZ from Serious Offroad sells Dana Spicer ball joints for $50 a pair. I would check him out if you need ball joints.

Thank you guys for the great info. How would I diagnose if the ball joint, u joint, or wheel bearing is the problem? Thanks again.
