Default Whats Pushing Unstable/Top Heavy?

Ive been hearing anything over 4"s of lift tends to get unstable, top heavy... So for you folks that know about height and so on, whats your experience with this?. i plan on going with a RE 5.5" lift, 34x10.50 LTB's on 7" wide wheels with 4" back spacing.. stock width running gears of course with both front and rear sway bars disconnected... Not gonna be a daily driver, nor driven much on the road. Im no hardcore wheeler but id like to not worry upon getting on the side of a bank or drop off and turning it over every other time i take it to the woods...

What do you mean by stock width running gears.

And your avatar has the pumpkin on the wrong side.

I would not worry about being top heavy with that. Just drive it like its a Jeep and not a car.

How much lift and setup all depends on what you want to do. Many believe a smaller lift with bigger tires, more suspension travel and cutting the fenders is better for rock crawling since you have a lower COG and plenty of travel but remember to get limiting straps. For running trails and playing in the dirt I don't think it matters to much. I sit at about 4.5" and I can honestly say with my 31's I have had no issues on road and I drive some curvy roads on my way to work at about 50 mph or so and have never once felt unstable.

What i meant by stock width running gears is its gonna still have the stock width front and rearend under it with this 5.5" Lift.. Also yea i know the pumpkin in my avatar is on the wrong side for Jeep, im a chevrolet man so... But ANYWAYS, thanks for the bit of info guys, like i said im new to the building of Jeeps, so i thought id ask upon what i had heard about.

I'm running 32's with 4.5 inches of lift and I feel my tires start to push every once in a while but that's when I let off the gas. Just drive smart.

Oh yea trust me, im gonna regear, its got 3.55's under it now but once the 34"s are on it im planning on dropping it down to 4.56's. Weld the rear and leave the front open.

X2 "weld the rear"? Break it the right way, put a locker in it.

Just look up Aussie Locker. They are not FULL lock like a weld would be and allow the vehicle to turn and not wear the tires so fast.

They would run ya about 225 bucks.

You will break more shafts and wear your tires even fast with it welded. Just some FYI.

Remember a locked rearend will make the vehicle drive a lot differently so take it easy at first and relearn what your jeep can do.

Ok ill check em out, i didnt relize they would be that cheap. And oh i know ill have to get used to this thing, especially with both sway bars disconnected. I know a fully locked rear will make one drive diffrent, my Nissan has been welded for a couple years now and also ive had too many street cars fully spooled. A 4wheel drive is no where near as bad as street car on slicks. Actually got caught in the rain in mine this 4th of july and lets just say that was a very slow ride home!
