Default what's the normal peak temp.....

what's your normal peak temp in the summer with the A/C on in heavy traffic? just curious as to what you all are experiencing. I live in deep south texas where it is normal to have temperatures in the upper 90's all summer long. summer starting in May and ending in November. I have swapped out my entire coolant system and still peaking at maybe 220. I am a little nervous at that point. I really don't want to overheat.

thanks for your help.

radiator was just a single row rad. I will look into replacing the heater valve. it looks pretty rusted out.

Possibly either the dash temp indicator meter or temperature sensor on the thermostat housing may be inaccurate. Just my 2 cents.

it's normal to run hot with the a/c on when not moving very fast.
many overheat while on the trail when running their a/c.

make sure your a/c fan is kicking on and check for spin. i've seen some later xj a/c fans turn very slowly. you may need to replace it.

I top out at 210 even when sitting ideling and sitting. But I had to do some work to get it like that. New hoses rad flush 180 tstat. But it's sticks to under 200 if I am moveing.

when I'm moving at 25-30mph it will be at 185-190. it's just when I'm idling is when it starts climbing. tomr I am checking for any air in the coolant system. then possibly the sensor.

Did u make a little hole on the thermostat plate? I always do it when i change it, it helps the air bleeding.

I pulled my thermostat. I don't usually like using one.
