mine is currently out in my 92, if I need to put it back in, for the possibility of heat or defrost where are the lines it is connected to?

Actually AMC started that!

On Both my '88 and '99 I relocated it to the area near the distributor and zip tied it in place. It is used for the HVAC vents, heater control valve(on older XJ's), and the cruise control.
