Whats the difference between XJs and other cherokees?

Whats the difference between XJs and other cherokees?

I've been looking into buying a jeep and have been tryng to do as much research on the Cherokees as I can. But one thing I'm not sure about is if there is a difference between XJs and other jeeps like the Sport, Classic, and Country. It may just be that I'm looking too far into it, but if someone could enlighten me on the subject it would really help.XJ

The only difference is the trim levels and the options they came with when referring to Sport, Classic, and Country.

XJ=cherokee

MJ=comanche

ZJ=grand cherokee

exactly, XJ just means its a good 'ol hearty genuine Cherokee, the sport, classic, limited, country, SE, and laredo are all just different optioned models, body panels, paint schemes, power options, A/C and other stuff like that, only differences, but if you ask me, the Cherokee Country looks the best!
