I've noticed over the last week or so that there were different roof rack options. One comes almost up to the front of the cab and the other stops about 3/4 up. Is this a package thing like Classic vs Sport? I have the 3/4 one and would like to have the longer one. I found one in the junkyard and I'm sure I can swap it out but was just curious on what determined what rack each Jeep got.

 

Well I know up until 97 (when they stopped making the Country trim line) the Country had a full roof rack, not the "3/4" style you mentioned. My old '99 sport had the "3/4" style

My 95 se has full rack

 

My '97 had a full rack on it. The Country style. but my '98 doesn't have one at all.

Yea 98 is the way to go!

 

i have a 99 with the full length rack ! .... if u find a full one u only have to drill like 2 more holes itsa well worth it !

 

2001 Limited with 3/4 Roof rack

 

1990 Laredo with a full rack.

 

It was probably an option that the original owner would pick... My limited has full length rails. My sister's sport has 3/4 rails.

 

So there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to which one got which rack. Must have been whatever they had in stock that day.
