I was wondering about this too and searched google and if I remember right they made them shorter for 98 or 99 model and newer

Original owner of '95 country '01 sport and '98 grand,second owner of another '95 country. 95's,both a full rack,01 has 3/4. Grand has a 3/4 but only because it has a sunroof
