I had the same question, a couple months ago a chart was published in Off Road Magazine. (A friend of mine had a copy.) The chart said 31's fit stock. Anything bigger would require fender trimming and/or lifting. On a side note, there was an article about the Jeep Lower 40. Interesting rig, that one.

I believe it. Do they rub the lower control arms? Or something else? Do tell.

My 1995 is on 30x9.50x15's. Rubs a little in the back on large bumps. Dont expect to do much off roading unless you want to rub your tires to pieces.

They fit though and dont really rub for daily driving.

im on bfg 30x9.5s with 4in back spaced rims and i had to remove my front bumper end caps. it rubbed like crazy in the back right after i first got them but a 225 mile highway trip with a good amount of weight took care of that. still need to trim the front fender liners as those occasionally rub when turning

235/75R15 clears with stock wheels.

i have done 235s/30x9.50/31x10.50 235's fit stock. 30x9.50 requires a little bit of trimming. and 31x10.50 rubbed no matter what i did.

I'm currently running 30x9.5 on my stock suspension. In normal driving situations, it doesn't really rub. The only time I've had it rub is backing out of a driveway thats on a slope and turning at the same time. Granted; my tires are pretty worn down, but a buddy of mine has brand new 30x9.5 on his stock xj and has only minor rubbing on the front bumper endcaps.

Agree, I run Cooper ATR 235/75R15's on mine. Stock wheels, no lift. and no problems, but then, they're only a 29" tire.
