Well i've spent the last few hours working under my Jeep and I began to notice my tie rod is starting to look a little curly from the amount of time i've bent it, then bent it back. I've got the money saved up for a HD setup but I don't want to spend more than 250-300 bucks, and i'd prefer it was 100% bolt on installation. I was thinking about the ZJ V8 conversion but it doesn't seem like enough of an upgrade to even bother. What do you guys think is my best bet for that much money?

The Rusty's one is about that much and they say its a bolt on, hows that kit? Also I happened to find this http://shoplive.rompalicious.com/cro...tj-p-1946.html which looks basically like a slightly beefed up ZJ V8 kit, are they supposed to be alot stronger than stock?

hey...i ran a ironrock hd tie rod on mine...its thicker than stock, and solid cold rolled steel. also it accepted stock tre's...so parts were cheap. then i carried my stock one as a trail spare (never needed it thou). I beat on it hard on 33's and never had an issue. just giving u another option to look at.

I got myself a new zj v8 rod, adjuster and tre for about 65$. It's very solid and the tre is way bigger and thicker. The tie v8 zj tir rod makes the stock rod look stupid. I'd say that is the most economical bolt on upgrade. I think alot of the reason people like to upgrade is to get rid of the y link type setup all together, and go to and inverted t type setup.

I dunno looks like the same things as just getting a zj v8 rod. The drag link is already solid. And I would assume you already have an upgraded steering stab. just sayin ....

Thats the rugged ridge setup which I have never heard a good review of, something about lousy thread engagement on the TRE's causing them to shear out.
