Default what size tires?

ok so i just got a jeep cherokee with a 5 inch lift (according to the previous owner, this is my first lifted truck and i dont know how to verify that)

here are pics
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...7&l=2c328d738d

anyways the back tires look great but the fronts dont look so good

current tire size is 31x10.50x15

i am sure 33's will fit just fine
but what about 35's or 36's
what do you guys think?
or do i just need to take this to the tire shop and have some tires test fitted

i am askin on here first because i am looking to buy tires from craigslist so it might be a bit awkward to have tires test fitted then not bought

thanks
jared

with that amount of trimming done to the fenders it looks like 33s would easily clear and probably 35s but when you get to tires that big you really need to base it on what your doing with the truck and what axles your running amungst other things

Yeah I would stick with 33's. On a sidenote those pics say they are from 2007 so have you seen it in person because it might not look the same.
And for those without facebook:

those pics were taken yesterday when i got the truck
i traded a 75 bug for it
i didn't nessecarily want/need a truck lifted but i figure the truck has got to be worth 3000 and i only was askin 1500 for the bug so i took it

the truck is to be used as a DD only in the winter/snow
the only reason i want bigger tires is because IMO these tires look a bit small for the lift

so you guys think 33's will fill it nicely?
how can i verify the amount of lift?
does anyone know how i can recalibrate the speedometer to be accurate again?

btw this truck will RARELY see off road use

Ahh I see. The date on the pics threw me off. It will be kinda hard to verify the size of the lift with the fenders cut but it looks like its right around 4.5-5 inches to me.

the more i look at the truck the more i think the tires look about right to me

i think they just look a bit small because the front fenders are cut

take a close look at the rear fenders and how the tires look there

what do ya guys think?

I think they are look a little on the small side. If the fenders wern't they would be ok, but 33's with cut fenders would be your best bet.

For something that will rarely see offroad I would put 33s on it. You might have to beef up your rear end but you won't have to worry about cutting tires on your fenders if you don't flex it out lol

i have a 5" lift and 31s are perfect for it. i don't rub in the big stuff and it rides nice on the highway.

don't forget that the bigger the tire, the more need for changing your axle gearing.

take those stickers off the back window also, looks bad

31's will do ya just fine! They will look good, and they wont require extencive mods! For an all purpose jeep highway, roads, and some off road, 31's will do just fine!

Sounds like ya got a good deal! I agree stickers should be removed!
