I’ve been wondering what this is and why it’s disconnected. It looks like some sort of power steering pressure switch or something of the like. Dunno what it is, dunno what it does.

I should’ve circled it but it’s the blue thing with the two brass prongs

That's what it is!

POWER STEERING PRESSURE SWITCH—PCM INPUT
A pressure sensing switch is included in the power steering system (mounted on the high-pressure line). This switch will be on vehicles equipped with a 2.5L engine and power steering. The switch (figure 12, YJ models or figure 13, XJ models) provides an input to the PCM. This input is provided during periods of high pump load and low engine rpm; such as during parking maneuvers. The PCM will then increase the idle speed through the idle air control (IAC) motor. This is done to prevent the engine from stalling under the increased load.

Where does the connector plug into?

Uh, look for a connector with a Black w/Tan tracer and a Dark Blue w/White tracer.

Well, this is fun. There’s no connector anywhere near the pressure switch, and I don’t even know where the wires would feed into.

Manual says the the BK/TN comes off Splice 119 which is near the distributor (ground). The DB/WT connects to pin 10 on the PCM (power). It may be dangling below the engine or behind the PS Pump. Maybe you can follow the harnesses and located it.

Sorry for the late response, but I can’t for the life of me find anything related to a connector for the power steering switch.

I have, however, found both of the wires that match your description that look like they go to the stud at the dipstick, by the distributor. I tried to follow them as long as I could, but I had no dice. I’m pulling my intake and exhaust to re-seal it this weekend and while i’m in there, i’ll take the cover off the PCM and try and follow that dark blue wire. I’m hoping the connector snapped off and it just left two wires, but i’ll have to see

Supposedly your engine will not run with it disconnected (Well mine didn't). When my pressure switch came apart I just stuck a wad of tin foil in there till I could get a new one.

SO I bet someone maybe cut off the connector and tied the two wires together??
The wires come out the front of you fuel injector harness. (The black plastic runner the FI wires come out of along the side of the valve cover)
You can see the GREY connector on the new green pressure switch. Rockauto sells the connector, but it is not listed I think as the power steering switch, it is under the ac connector https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...10356&jsn=1071
What they have listed for the power steering high pressure switch is incorrect.

I’m betting that might be the case. I’ll take a closer look around there, and I would really like to have that switch working, because it’s a pain in the *** to park this thing when it’s idling at 300 and having to have the clutch to bite and giving it gas so it doesn’t stall

Found the two wires. They were disconnected, and I found all the wires heading to the o2 sensor to be taped together with some electrical tape.

So, it seems that more shady work has been done than I thought.

Well, time to patch it all up

Fixed all the wiring, as well as made my own “connector” with some butt terminals. Seems to work fine now.

Thanks for y’all’s help.
