Grapeseed oil and hotdog buns (for a filter) $4.50
Change it every 100,000 and that's $13.50 for the life of the engine.
go with corn oil and you can drop it down to 11.75, but you're gambling with your engine.

HAhhahahahah! Hell, if burned up wing oil can power diesel engines, then hotdog buns for sure can filter oil!

So I have almost 200k miles on my jeep and I put on about 1000 miles a month this summer on my jeep and with school starting that number will go down to about only 5 miles a day. Lol and I have no idea what my po did or didn't do in this case..what's my best way going about cleaning out my engine of sludge (if there is any) on the cleap/easy side?
Put on a new end filter, and top off the oil? Or what?
Oh and I'm going to wait till november, to get my oil changed (so I can put in 5w)..so what you high mileage guys recomend?
Edit: Just to clear things up with I got it,, I got ALL of my fiulds changed..looking back I should've done it my self, and saved the almost 400 bucks I sent getting every changed and flushed and the 'high end' stuff put in

Anyone ever run a bigger filter than the normal short can? I've been running the Wix p/n 51773. Has the same threads, burst pressure, bypass valve setting, max flow rate and nominal micron rating as the filter that they list for the 4.0L but the 51773 is about twice as long.

Does the filter adapter on the side of your block point the filter forward or down or what? Mine points forward and there seems to be plenty of clearance.

Mine has the end of the filter up and its real close with a long filter on some brackets that hold some emission canister. With yours facing forward it may work for you.
