I have been using castrol gtx high milage 10w 40 for the two years i've owned my jeep. It works pretty well but i was wondering if anyone was running with a heavier weight to deal with the oil drop everyone seems to experience with there jeep. Is anyone running 15w 40 rottella?

 

I use Straight 30w castrol in summer months and 10/30 in winter. I have a mechanical gauge on my jeep which reads 55psi cold/40 warm with 221,000 plus miles on the motor...Tj

 

Are you talking about the oil pressure drop? or an oil leak? I have both...lol
I have been using Valvoline synthetic blend high mileage 10w 40. It has been doing fine but I have a leak of nearly half a quart per month. As far as oil pressure it seems fine for the jeep. It warms up at 60psi and settles at 25 at idle but always runs 60 while driving. I have been happy with the weight but think I may switch over to a conventional until I can get my leak fixed.
